- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 4 medium russet potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 1 sweet onion, chopped
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 tbsp butter
- Salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika (to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the onions until soft. Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
- In a bowl, combine the cooked meat mixture with sliced potatoes, milk, and seasonings.
- Grease a baking dish and layer half of the potato-beef mixture on the bottom. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese, then add the remaining mixture on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil in the last 15 minutes to let the cheese brown.
