- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 sheets puff pastry
- 1 beaten egg (for egg wash)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil and sauté chopped onions until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Stir in the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula; cook until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Season the mixture with cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper; remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out puff pastry sheets on a floured surface and cut into circles using a large cookie cutter.
- Place about one tablespoon of filling on one half of each pastry circle; fold over and press edges firmly to seal.
- Brush tops with egg wash and arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
