- 1 lb lean ground beef (80/20)
- 1 medium onion, finely grated
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 4 pita breads
- ½ cup tahini sauce
- Lettuce and tomato slices
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, grated onion, minced garlic, cilantro, cumin, salt, and pepper until just combined.
- With slightly wet hands, shape the mixture into oval patties or logs.
- Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat; lightly oil if desired.
- Grill koftas for 5-7 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
- Slice warm pita open, fill with koftas, top with lettuce and tomatoes, then drizzle generously with tahini sauce.
