Instructions

  1. Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until clear.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, heat olive oil. Sauté the chopped onion until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
  3. Stir in cumin seeds and toast for about one minute.
  4. Add the rinsed rice to the saucepan and stir for one minute.
  5. Pour in vegetable broth; season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until liquid is absorbed.
