- 1 pound lean ground beef (80/20)
- 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 ounces button mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup sour cream
- 8 ounces egg noodles
- 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, heat oil and sauté onions until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Increase heat and add ground beef, breaking it apart as it browns for about 6-8 minutes.
- Stir in sliced mushrooms, salt, and pepper; cook until mushrooms are soft.
- Add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce; simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Mix cornstarch with cold water until smooth; stir into the skillet to thicken the sauce.
- Remove from heat and fold in sour cream until combined. Serve over cooked egg noodles or rice.
