Ingredients
- 1 cup long-grain white rice (jasmine or basmati recommended)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Sauté the minced garlic until fragrant (about 1 minute).
- Add the rinsed rice to the saucepan and toast for about 2 minutes.
- Pour in the broth, add salt and pepper to taste, and bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover tightly, and simmer for 18-20 minutes until liquid is absorbed.
- Remove from heat and let sit covered for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
