Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder if using.
- Cream softened butter with sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk until just combined.
- Fill each liner two-thirds full with batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting.
