- 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade)
- 1 cup water
- 8 taco shells or tortillas
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
- Optional toppings: sour cream, salsa, jalapeños
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté chopped onion until translucent, then add minced garlic.
- Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in taco seasoning and water; simmer for about 10 minutes until thickened.
- Warm taco shells or tortillas according to package instructions.
- Fill each taco shell with seasoned beef and top with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and optional toppings.
