  • 1 package phyllo dough
  • 1 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup finely chopped pistachios
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a large baking dish with melted butter.
  2. In a bowl, combine walnuts, pistachios, sugar, and cinnamon.
  3. Layer seven sheets of phyllo dough in the baking dish, brushing each with melted butter.
  4. Spread half of the nut mixture over the phyllo base and top with four more buttered phyllo sheets.
  5. Add the remaining nut mixture followed by at least eight layers of phyllo, brushing each layer with butter.
  6. Cut diamond shapes into the top layers before baking for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Pour warm honey syrup over the hot baklava; allow it to cool before serving.
