Ingredients
- 1 package phyllo dough
- 1 cup finely chopped walnuts
- 1 cup finely chopped pistachios
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup honey
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a large baking dish with melted butter.
- In a bowl, combine walnuts, pistachios, sugar, and cinnamon.
- Layer seven sheets of phyllo dough in the baking dish, brushing each with melted butter.
- Spread half of the nut mixture over the phyllo base and top with four more buttered phyllo sheets.
- Add the remaining nut mixture followed by at least eight layers of phyllo, brushing each layer with butter.
- Cut diamond shapes into the top layers before baking for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
- Pour warm honey syrup over the hot baklava; allow it to cool before serving.
