- 1 head green cabbage
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20)
- 1 cup uncooked white rice
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 cup beef broth or water
Instructions
- Prepare the cabbage by boiling it in salted water for about 5 minutes until leaves soften. Carefully remove the core.
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, uncooked rice, sautéed onion, garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix well.
- Lay each cabbage leaf flat and place about 2 tablespoons of filling at the base. Roll tightly.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread half of the tomato sauce in a baking dish.
- Arrange the rolls seam-side down in the dish and cover with remaining sauce and broth until just covered.
- Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour; remove foil for an additional 30 minutes until bubbling.
