- 3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness of about 1 inch.
- Dredge each breast in seasoned flour, dip in beaten eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat; fry chicken until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Place chicken in a baking dish, top with marinara sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
