- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 1 cup full-fat cottage cheese
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup whole milk
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred)
Instructions
- Boil water in a large pot; add salt and cook the elbow macaroni until al dente according to package instructions.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and stir in cottage cheese until smooth. Add shredded cheddar until melted.
- Gradually mix in whole milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until combined.
- Drain the macaroni and return it to the pot. Pour the cheesy sauce over it and mix well.
- Transfer to a greased baking dish, top with breadcrumbs, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
