- 2 slices of sourdough or whole grain bread
- 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 medium ripe tomato, sliced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients on your counter for easy access.
- Slice the tomato into thin rounds.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread generously.
- In a skillet over medium heat, place one slice of bread butter-side down.
- Layer with cheddar cheese, followed by tomato slices, then mozzarella cheese, and top with the second slice of bread (buttered-side up).
- Cook until the bottom is golden brown (about 3-4 minutes), then flip and cook the other side until both sides are golden and the cheese has melted (another 3-4 minutes).
