- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- ½ cup whole milk
- 4 ripe plums (sliced)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
- Gradually blend dry ingredients into the butter mixture, alternating with milk until just combined.
- Pour half the batter into the prepared pan, layer sliced plums on top, then dollop remaining batter over.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean. Cool before serving.
