Instructions

- In another bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg yolk and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined; avoid overmixing.
- Fold in chocolate chips gently.
- Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet about two inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown around the edges but soft in the center. Cool on wire racks.
