Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda; gradually mix into the wet ingredients. Add red food coloring to reach the desired shade.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto lined baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
