- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbsp light brown sugar
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried thyme
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a baking dish with nonstick spray.
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, olive oil, and thyme to create the marinade.
- Place chicken in a resealable bag; pour marinade over and coat well. Marinate for at least 30 minutes (up to overnight).
- Transfer marinated chicken to the baking dish and pour remaining marinade on top. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Allow chicken to rest for five minutes before slicing. Serve over rice or with steamed vegetables.
