- 3–4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- Hot sauce (to taste)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- Mayonnaise (for spreading)
- Lettuce (for topping)
- Sliced tomatoes (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) or heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Pound each chicken breast to about half an inch thick for even cooking.
- In one bowl, mix flour with salt and pepper. In another bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs with desired spices.
- Coat each chicken breast in flour, then egg (optional), followed by the breadcrumb mixture.
- Cook in hot oil for about 5 minutes per side until golden brown or bake on a lined sheet for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
- Spread mayonnaise on both sides of a bun, layer with lettuce and chicken, top with tomato slices, and serve hot.
