- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- 2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Set up three shallow bowls for flour (seasoned with salt and pepper), whisked eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan.
- Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip in eggs, then roll in breadcrumbs until fully coated.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sear the chicken breasts until golden brown on both sides (4-5 minutes each).
- Transfer the chicken to a baking dish, cover with marinara sauce, and top with mozzarella and extra Parmesan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden. Let sit for 5 minutes before garnishing with basil.
