- 3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Mayonnaise and hot sauce for the sauce
Instructions
- Marinate chicken in buttermilk with salt and pepper for at least one hour (overnight is best).
- Set up three bowls: one with seasoned flour, another with beaten eggs, and the third with panko.
- Bread the marinated chicken by coating it first in flour, then egg wash, and finally panko.
- Heat oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C) and fry the coated chicken for about 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Assemble the sandwich on toasted buns with mayonnaise mixed with hot sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, and any other desired toppings.
