- 2 cans (5 oz each) chunk light tuna packed in water, drained
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup finely diced celery
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 4 slices sourdough or whole grain bread
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Prepare the Tuna Mixture: In a bowl, combine drained tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, diced celery, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Add Cheese: Fold half of the grated cheddar into the mixture.
- Assemble Sandwiches: Butter one side of each slice of bread. On the unbuttered side, spread tuna mixture and top with remaining cheddar before covering with another slice.
- Cook: Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook sandwiches for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Serve: Allow to cool slightly before slicing diagonally.
