Ingredients

  • 2 cans (5 oz each) chunk light tuna packed in water, drained
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup finely diced celery
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 4 slices sourdough or whole grain bread
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tuna Mixture: In a bowl, combine drained tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, diced celery, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Add Cheese: Fold half of the grated cheddar into the mixture.
  3. Assemble Sandwiches: Butter one side of each slice of bread. On the unbuttered side, spread tuna mixture and top with remaining cheddar before covering with another slice.
  4. Cook: Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook sandwiches for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
