- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (light)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat, then stir in granulated and brown sugars until well combined.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before whisking in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- If desired, gently mix in chocolate chips for added richness.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
- Let cool before cutting into squares.
