- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 ½ cups warm water (about 110°F)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Instructions
- Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Mix the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center, adding the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir to combine.
- Knead: Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Let it Rise: Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch Down & Shape: Gently punch down risen dough, divide it into portions, and shape into balls.
- Preheat & Prepare: Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). Roll out each ball to desired thickness.
