- 1 packet active dry yeast (2 ¼ tsp or 7g)
- 1 cup warm water (240ml, about 110°F or 43°C)
- 2 tbsp olive oil (30ml)
- 1 tsp salt (6g)
- 1 tsp sugar (4g)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Create a well in the center; add yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until combined.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the risen dough, divide into portions, and shape into balls. Let rest for another 30 minutes before rolling out.
